'Activities' is still a little wonky for me, even today. You can literally 'combine' remotes here.
Programing logitech remote tv#
You can make it so that one setting controls the DVD player while still able to adjust volume on the TV and still program another button to control something else. If you have a device that's incredibly generic, you may have issues.įor those who are willing to really dig deep and take a look, you can do about anything here.

I've dug out this remote from the bottom of the drawer and so glad I did.įor the 'not too inclined' types, simply run the software, enter in the model numbers of the equipment you have, and y ou're ready to go.
Programing logitech remote software#
two television sets later, and new devices like my Roku player, and with vastly improved software from Logitech, the programming and functionality of these Harmony remotes are much, much better. Back then it was somewhat convenient, but the television I had didn't play too nice w/ the Harmony and truth be told, the 'Activities' programming was a pain and if you didn't ensure the remote was in the exact last state it was in the last time you performed an 'activity', would easily get confused. I first got one of these years ago when I got my Xbox 360 and paired it up w/ my Media Center PC. If you own an Xbox and need a universal remote, then this item is perfect for you. It's a very minor issue and actually the only issue I have with this product. The only bad thing is the small number buttons. Switching from TV to Xbox or Radio to DVD can be dow n with by pressing only 2 buttons. It also puts devices on the correct inputs for you. Recording TV, fast forwarding, menus, volume, everything! The remote automaticly shuts off the devices I'm not using and turns the right one's on. In fact everything worked on the first try.

It took about ten minutes and the software recognized all my devices on the first try. I wrote down the model numbers for my devices, put the cd in my computer, plugged the remote in via USB, then followed the onscreen prompts. It also controls my Hitachi HDTV, Phillips DVD Home Theatre, and At&T Uverse DVR/cablebox. I opened the packaging and pressed xyab Bam! my Xbox was now controlled with this remote. Controls all of my devices and all of their functions.īefore buying this remote, I had to use 4 supposedly universial remotes.
